Hiring: Looking for tech & business bloggers ? Oakland Local

Hey there, Oakland Local reader:
We?re hiring two part-time East Bay based tech and business writers. You should have 1-10 years experience writing for the web, but most importantly, you should be a talented, fast, and accurate writer and have a strong interest in technology, green tech, web and business and a passionate interest in Oakland and the East Bay.

Responsibilities include:
? Writing blog posts about current news. Be fast, interesting and through.
? Meeting with tech companies and leaders. Yep, profiles, features, news reports. Face to face, even.
? Reporting from the field. Hackathons, meetings, events

You need to be skilled as a tech writer, meaning you?re comfortable talking about using tech. You will have an accessible conversational tone in your work, and a talent for feature writing and reporting as well as a strong interest in data and digital inclusion issues. If you?re witty and not snarky?extra bonus points but we hate mean and stupid jokes. Extra extra for some hard news and some lifestyle reporting experience.

We also want you to: generate story ideas like a maniac, spot stories early that aren?t the same old same old and be a nice person we?ll like working with. If you can?t take critical feedback and use it to better yourself and the site, do not apply. Be reliable also. You will get paid on time and we?ll help you become a better writer with a great portfolio.
