So...

MB = Megabyte
Mb - Megabit
1 byte = 8 bits
1 Megabyte = 8 megabits

So with that knowledge, we can say that if you take whatever your internet speed is in mbps(megabits per second), and divide it by 8, we get what your internet speed is in MBps(megabytes per second).

So let's take a very common internet download speed of 15mbps. Divided by 8, that gives you 1.875MBps. In the case of this comcast "economy internet service" they are offering a 1.5mbps download speed that is 1.5 megabits per second. This is a moderately low .1875 megabytes per second. So low in fact, that it would be simpler to measure in kilobytes.

There are 1024 kilobytes in 1 megabyte, so if we multiply that low download rate of .1875MBps by 1024 we get 192 kilobytes per second.

Anyway... while I'm here... painrage, your 36.2 megabits per second down speed translates to 4.525 megabytes per second, not 8, and your 8 megabits per second up speed is 1 megabyte per second, which is 1,024 kilobytes.
