Top 10 entries for the 2013 New Scientist Eureka Prize for Science Photography

From a charred elephant carcass to proteins expressed by prostate cancer cells, the top entries in this year's New Scientist Eureka Prize for Science Photography competition encompass the very big and the very small. Michael Slezak takes us through the images, three of which will receive cash prizes.
