RIVERTON, Ore. - Stephanie Donaldson recently took her son to visit Terry Garner's ranch.
She said Garner is known to neighbors as a man with a heart for animals. He often let children come to his ranch so to learn about raising livestock.
Garner's body was eaten by his hogs last week. An investigation into what caused his death is ongoing.
"It's kind of prophetic that it happened the way it did," Donaldson said. "He very much loved his animals, without a doubt, and that's where he always said he'd love to pass when he did."
Donaldson said she and her family believe Garner succumbed to a tragic accident.
Garner's family have been told by authorities not to talk about his death until the investigation is complete.
